Next to the Bremer River and surrounded by wheat and oil seed farms in WA’s Great Southern is an ancient granite outcrop of Green Granite. Known locally as “Laguna Green” granite, this stone has previously won awards in 2006 for its use at the Australian War Memorial in London.
The location of the quarry is in the very south of Australia and the granite comes from a stable rock formation that has low internal stress due to its great age of 2.5-4 billion years. It is Archean granite which forms the base of the Australian Continent. This stone has survived since the start of this planet due to its special qualities.
