Laguna Green
Laguna Green is a pale green, megacrystic quartz monazite from our quarry near Bremer Bay, WA.
The green colour comes from contained minerals, but it is almost as though the colour has seeped into the rock from the surrounding native plants as it is a similar colour. The stone has excellent physical properties and can take a high polish. It is suitable for use as a dimension stone in buildings and monuments. It is very stable and resistant to weathering.
The stone outcrop has only a few fractures or veins of other minerals, so it is very consistent within the quarry area. It cuts easily and recovery of blocks is high. The stone reserve of granite is large, and the area is easy to quarry due good weather and close access to a highway and a nearby town.
The stone has a successful history of use for projects located in Japan, South-East Asia and New Zealand.
